News New York Playwrights Lab to Offer Free Readings at Cherry Lane Theatre The New York Playwrights Lab will offer a sampling of its members' newest works Jan. 19-23 at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Manhattan.

Three free 6 PM readings will feature the work of Lab founder and artistic director Israel Horovitz, Lynn Nottage, David Bar Katz, Stephen Adly Guirgis and Richard Vetere as well as Foodies, a collection of plays by current members.

The line-up for the readings follows:

Jan. 19:
6 PM: Israel Horovitz's The P Word
8 PM: Foodies

Jan. 20:
6 PM: Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Motherf**ker With the Hat
8 PM: Foodies

Jan. 21:
6 PM: David Bar Katz's What a Way to Go
8 PM: Foodies Jan. 22:
6 PM: Lynn Nottage's New Play
8 PM: Foodies

Jan. 23:
6 PM: Richard Vetere's Lady Macbeth's Lover
8 PM: Foodies

The NY Playwrights Lab was founded 35 years ago by playwright Israel Horovitz. The 2009 Lab membership includes Neena Beber, Ellen Melaver, Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, Sarah Ruhl, Peter Parnell, Richard Vetere, Daniel Reitz, Nicole Burdette, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Tanya Barfield, Lynn Nottage, Israel Horovitz, Matthew Weiss, Michael Hollinger, Richard Wesley and Brett C. Leonard.
