Directed by Mark Waldrop, the production will officially open Jan. 9, 2011.

Drama Desk nominee and Sirius Radio host Christine Pedi leads an ensemble that includes Christina Bianco, Michael West, John Walton West, Amy Griffin and Tommy Walker.

The production features songs and material penned by Rick Crom. This new version of NEWSical, according to press notes, will feature "Crom's signature take on all the most-talked about events of the day, including the Tea Party, immigration in Arizona, Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Crazy Jet Blue Flight Attendant, bed bugs, Lindsay Lohan, Oprah's Final Season and more!"

Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), David Kaley (costume designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).

The show is produced by Tom D'Angora and Elyse Pasquale.
