David Alpert (If/Then, The Trip to Bountiful, The Best Man) created the evening in honor of his late sister, Gilana Shira Alpert. He directs and produces the annual event that boasts a lineup of Broadway stars.

During the evening the 2015 recipients of Gilana's Fund will be announced from the stage. Show time is 7 PM.

Broadway performers slated to appear include Eric Anderson (Soul Doctor, South Pacific), Ben Cameron (Wicked), Jessica Rush (Jersey Boys, Gypsy), Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring it On), Tam Mutu (Doctor Zhivago), Paige Davis (Chicago, "Trading Spaces"), Emily Padgett (Side Show, Rock of Ages), Nick Adams (Priscilla, Wicked), Matthew Hydzik (Side Show, West Side Story), Carmen Ruby Floyd (After Midnight) and Alysha Umphress (On the Town, American Idiot).

The evening features musical direction by Jason Wetzel (After Midnight).

"I'm so thrilled to be sharing the eighth annual Living for Today concert with the New York community," Alpert said in a statement. "It has been an honor and a pleasure to watch this event grow considerably since 2008, which continues to attract Broadway's brightest stars to help me celebrate my sister's legacy and this very worthy cause. Through this concert series we can together make a difference in the world and continue to honor the goal of Gilana's Fund: to celebrate acceptance. This year's concert will showcase the incredible catalogue of Rodgers & Hammerstein with the traditional LFT twist our audiences have come to expect. I'm so thankful for the support over the years in supporting 'Living for Today!'" Gilana’s Fund was established through the Community Foundation for Muskegon County (MI) in 2007, created shortly after the passing of Gilana Alpert at the age of 26. The fund, which has raised more than $50,000, celebrates and encourages educational programming promoting acceptance and understanding of our communities, each other and ourselves.
