Nick Blaemire’s A Little More Alive, in which two estranged brothers reunite at their mother's funeral, will be performed in concert at (le) Poisson Rouge October 17 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM.
The musical will be performed in its entirety in New York City for the first time following productions at Kansas City Repertory Theatre and Barrington Stage Company.
Featuring a book, music and lyrics by Blaemire, the concert will star Van Hughes, Daniel Jenkins, Rachel Bay Jones, Nicolette Robinson, Michael Tacconi and Emily Walton.
The creative team includes Matt Hinkley (music direction/arrangements), Katie Young (stage manager), Charlie Rosen (orchestrations), Nessie Nankivell (graphic design), Lindsay Jones (sound) and Caite Hevner (projections) with Madeline Smith on piano and Joe Mowatt on drums.
A Little More Alive is described as a “captivating new pop musical” about the two brothers. “An unexpected discovery upends every memory they have—and it becomes their mission to learn the truth about their family; but, along the way, Nate and Jeremy find that no one is exempt from the gray area between right and wrong.”
