Night and Her Stars, Richard Greenberg's play about the 1950's quiz show scandals, will begin again in an open run Jan. 4 at the Alliance Theatre in Los Angeles. Steve Rudnick directs the play, which stars Dana Ashbrook ("Twin Peaks").

Like the Robert Redford film "Quiz Show," Night and Her Stars takes on Charles Van Doren, a brilliant university professor and the handsome son of a prominent scholar, who trades his scruples for fame on a TV quiz show. It's only after Herb Stempel, a less photogenic contestant, throws an answer for Van Doren to win and then reveals to the world what he did, that Van Doren's and the TV quiz show's world begins to fall apart. Greenberg also penned Three Days of Rain, The American Plan,The Author's Voice and Everett Beekin.

Ashbrook stars as Charles Van Doren. Also in the cast are David Keats (Stempel), Bob Neches (Enright), Walter Beery (Mark Van Doren), Eric Tunney, Stephen Liska, Joel Stoffer, Gus Buktenica, Kathleen McNearny, Rico Simonini, Erin Underwood, Candice Khristensun, and Arnie Starkey.

Tickets are $15. The Alliance Theatre is located at 3204 W. Magnolia Boulevard. For reservations, call (323) 930-9304.
