News Nikki M. James Will Brave the Barricades for the Final Time; Les Misérables' New Eponines Announced Tony Award winner Nikki M. James will play her final performance as the lovelorn street urchin Eponine in the 2014 Broadway revival of Les Misérables Jan. 11, 2015, producers announced Dec. 29.

Following James, Erin Clemons (an understudy for Eponine) will play the role Jan. 13-Feb. 8, 2015, with Brittney Johnson (Motown) performing Feb. 10-March 1, 2015.

Additional principal casting for the production's second year on Broadway will be announced in the coming weeks.

The cast of Les Miz features 2014 Tony nominee Ramin Karimloo as Jean Valjean, Will Swenson as Javert, Caissie Levy as Fantine, Andy Mientus as Marius, Samantha Hill as Cosette, Cliff Saunders as Thenardier, Keala Settle as Madame Thenardier and Kyle Scatliffe as Enjolras.

Les Miz is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, original adaption by Trevor Nunn and John Caird and additional material by James Fenton. The original orchestrations are by John Cameron with new orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke, Stephen Metcalfe and Stephen Brooker.

The new production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, with set and image design by Matt Kinley inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, costumes by Andreane Neofitou and Christine Rowland, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter and projections realized by Fifty-Nine Productions. Musical staging is by Michael Ashcroft and Geoffrey Garratt. Musical supervision is by Stephen Brooker and musical direction by James Lowe.
