The Women's Project and Productions' Director's Forum will mark Women's History Month by investigating sex and violence on stage in Gazing at Sex and Violence, nine classic and new plays that offer different views on the subject. The event takes place March 1 in NYC. Directors Sonoko Kawahara, Mayahana Landowne, Shirley Parkinson, Rebecca Patterson, Renee Philippi, Deborah Nitzburg, Nancy Rogers, Eva Saks, Hillary Spector, and Gloria Zelaya will take part in the evening, which includes premieres of work by Robyn Burland, Carmen Rivera, and Vanda, and a revisionist look at Aphra Behn. Topics ranging from Tokyo Rose to domestic violence to fascism will be tackled in some director composed pieces.
