TheatreFest, the professional Equity theatre-in-residence at Montclair State University, is asking for submissions from New Jersey, New York and Connecticut playwrights for its sixth annual TheatreFest Regional Playwriting Contest. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 7, 2003.

The contest was established in 1998 to "encourage, promote, and develop the work of American dramatists." Playwrights may either be born or living in any of the three states.

Scripts must be original, unpublished and previously unproduced. For submission guidelines send a self addressed stamped envelope to: John Wooten, Artistic Director, TheatreFest, Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, NJ, 07043; or call 973-655-7071.

The winner will get a professional Equity production and the John Golden Prize will be awarded to the three finalists selected for readings. The winning playwright will receive $1,500; the two runners-ups will each receive $500. There is no submission fee.
