News N'Kenge, Seph Stanek and Tony LePage Will Sing from Akhenaten: The Musical at Metropolitan Museum On Oct. 13 the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations will present selections from Akhenaten: The Musical at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in honor of Egypt’s candidature for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council for the 2016-17 term.

The private event will take place at 6 PM at the Temple of Dendur in the Metropolitan Museum in front of the United Nations delegations.

The performance will feature N'Kenge, Seph Stanek and Tony LePage with Sarah Caldwell Smith, Laura Sudduth, Anne Fraser Thomas, Diego Ríos, Taso Mikroulis and Bruno Vida.

Attendees can expect to hear four songs from Akhenaten: The Musical: "You Are in Egypt," "Coronation," "Stones of Times" and "O My Son." Ben Boecker will conduct.

The gala night will be directed by Hisham Abdel Khalek.

Akhenaten the Musical features a book by Khalek, lyrics by Mohamed Metwally and music by Hesham Nazih; it is produced by Olivier Delesse, Khalek, Saad Bin Mohammed, N’Kenge Inc. and Jason Hewitt. The new musical, according to press notes, concerns "Queen-Ti, Akhenaten’s mother, who is distraught over her son’s love for Nefertiti and outrageous idealism for a new country."
