Fans of the hit Broadway musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical who picked up the latest issue of the entertainment magazine Time Out New York October 5 were startled to read a report that the show was closing.
In its ”To Book” section that lists upcoming entertainment options, the magazine said that ticket buyers “have two months left to catch the two-time Tony Award-winning Beautiful: The Carole King Musical before it closes for good in December.”
It apparently was news to Beautiful, which played at 98.5 percent of capacity last week, and has been at or near sold-out since its opening.
Beautiful producers issued a tongue-in-cheek denial, saying, ”Time out, Time Out! Beautiful isn't closing any time soon —it's here to stay.”
