The Pumpkin Pie Show, a three-year-old performance art group spotlighting the work of literary wunderkind Clay McLeod Chapman, will present four new stories by Chapman under the title Nocturnal Emissions. The production will play the East Village's Red Room Sept. 15-30.

Chapman's career took off when literary agent Heidi Lange took in a Pumpkin Pie Show performance. Impressed by Chapman, then all of 22 years old and utterly unpublished, Lange took him on as a client and soon netted him a two-book, $100,000 contract with Hyperion Books.

The new stories comprised in Emissions include: Fox Trot, about an old lady who wards off a rabid fox by grabbing it by the neck and holding it at arm's length for half a day; Bladder Companion, about a bed-wetter; Chatterbox, about a wooden dummy's jealousy over his master's upcoming wedding; and Second Helping, about the cannibalistic "bear scouts." Chapman will perform all four pieces. Joshua Camp and Michael Hearst provide original music.

Tickets are $15. The Red Room is located at 85 E. 4th Street in Manhattan. For more information, call (212) 802-9350.
