Noel Coward at the NPG, Nov. 18

News   Noel Coward at the NPG, Nov. 18

Noel Coward's career will be the subject of a talk at the National Portrait Gallery on St. Martin's Place, Sunday, Nov. 18.

With two of his plays (Star Quality, Private Lives) currently in the West End, Noel Coward continues to be an important figure on the London theatre scene, nearly thirty years after his death. As such, the National Portrait Gallery will examine his morale-boosting role in the Second World War on Nov. 18 in a 3 PM lecture: Noel Coward: The Playboy as Patriot.

The talk, illustrated with quotes from and discussions of Coward's plays, poems and songs will look at how the man best known for his wit, his dressing gowns and his comedies devoted his extraordinary talent to the war effort during the Second World War.
