International News Noel Sullivan Is Next Star of West End’s School of Rock The former member of the pop group Hear’Say and current star of television's Years and Years will take over the role of Dewey Finn this summer.

Noel Sullivan, best known for making his start in the British pop group Hear’Say, will take over the role of Dewey Finn in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock on August 19 at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

Sullivan, who currently appears in the BBC1 and HBO limited series Years and Years, will succeed Craig Gallivan in the role. The School of Rock principal cast also includes Laura Tebbutt as Rosalie Mullins and Rebecca LaChance as Patty Di Marco. They will be joined by Mark Anderson, who will step into the role of Ned Schneebly on October 8. Jake Sharp will play Dewey Finn at certain performances.

Following his launch in Britain’s pop music industry, Sullivan began a successful acting career, appearing in the West End productions of We Will Rock You, Grease, Rock of Ages, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Fame, and Flashdance, among others.

The School of Rock cast also includes Keisha Amponsa Banson, Ryan Bearpark, Rob Falconer, Kelly Hampson, Suzie McAdams, Richard Morse, Jayde Nelson, Andy Rees, Alex Tomkins, James Wolstenholme and Benjamin Yates with swings Jessica Kirton, Paul Kemble, Billy Mitchell, Catherine Morris, and Andy Prosser.
