Christiane Noll (Jekyll & Hyde) and Gilles Chiasson (The Civil War, Rent) will sing original tunes in a cabaret setting Jan. 17 as a part of Sean McCourt's Big Top series at Wilson's. Chiasson will sing his own compositions; Noll will give voice to her accompanist David Budway's songs.
Noll is best known for portraying Jekyll/Hyde's fiancee, Emma Carew. She most recently appeared on Broadway singing "Fever" in It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues. Chiasson was a part of the original company of Rent, before landing two featured roles in Wildhorn musicals: Armand in the first Scarlet Pimpernel and Bill McEwen in The Civil War.
Singing back up and their own tunes will be McCourt, Matthew Bennett (Titanic), Dan Lipton (composer of Joe! and "Travelogue") and Erin Hill ("Cradle Will Rock").
McCourt's Big Top series will feature Broadway actors performing their own original material or original material written for them. Feb. 21, McCourt's guests will be Alice Ripley (The Dead and a songwriter who has written for her bands Lame and Uncle Daddy) and Cass Morgan (Floyd Collins).
The cover is $10. For dinner reservations, call (212) 769-0100. Wilson's is located at 201 West 79th Street at Amsterdam. -- By Christine Ehren
