News Norman and Stephen Mailer Set to Star in Long Day's Journey Into Night While the Tony-winning revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night — starring Tony winners Brian Dennehy and Vanessa Redgrave — continues to draw crowds at the Plymouth Theatre, another version of the Eugene O'Neill classic will be presented at the Provincetown Town Hall.

A one-night-only reading of the dysfunctional family drama to benefit the Provincetown Repertory Theatre will be offered Aug. 15 starring the Mailer family. Norris Church Mailer, who is the artistic director of the famed repertory theatre, will play the morphine-addicted Mary. Acclaimed writer Norman Mailer will portray Mary's husband, the authoritarian James. Stephen Mailer will play Jamie, John Buffalo Mailer will be Edmund, and Kate Mailer will star as Cathleen. This production will mark the first time the Mailer family has performed together. In a statement Norris Church Mailer explained, "Someone once said that if an actor has at least five percent of a character in him, he can play that character, and finding the five percent of the Tyrones in the Mailers has been, for us, the most fascinating part of this process." Norman Mailer added, "I expect us to be considerably better as a theatrical ensemble than as a basketball team."

Tickets for the benefit reading of Long Day's Journey Into Night are priced at $50 (general admission) and $150 (reserved seating and admission to the post-performance reception). The Provincetown Town Hall is located at 260 Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA. For tickets, call (508) 487-7487.
