News North Shore's 2007 Season to Include High School Musical, Crazy for You and More The North Shore Music Theatre — the acclaimed regional theatre located in Beverly, MA — has announced its 2007 season.

The season will kick off with the Tony-winning musical Crazy for You, which will play the Massachusetts venue April 24-May 13, 2007. The musical, which features a book by Ken Ludwig, boasts such Gershwin classics as "Embraceable You," "I Got Rhythm" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers — a co-production with Theater Under the Stars and the Paper Mill Playhouse — will run at the North Shore May 29-June 17. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers — about "seven back-wood brothers and their seven blushing sweethearts from town" — features a book by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay, lyrics by Johnny Mercer, music by Gene de Paul and new songs by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn.

High School Musical, the new stage musical based on the Disney TV sensation of the same name, will arrive at the North Shore July 3, playing through July 22. The musical concerns "Gabriella, a shy, brainy new student and Troy, the captain of the basketball team, [who] discover a shared love for singing when they meet at a karaoke contest and decide to audition for the leads in their high school's musical."

North Shore will partner with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre for its presentation of The Three Musketeers, which will run Aug. 21-Sept. 9. The coming-of-age story of the young D'Artagnan features music by George Stiles, lyrics by Paul Leigh and a book by Peter Raby.

The fictional 1950s boy band the Plaids will take centerstage when Forever Plaid runs at the North Shore Sept. 18-Oct. 7. The audience favorite, which features a book by Stuart Ross, includes such tunes as "Three Coins in a Fountain," "Catch a Falling Star," "Magic Moments" and "Day-O." A final musical to play Oct. 23-Nov. 11 will be announced shortly.
