News Nothing Like a Dame 20th Anniversary Concert Presented Tonight The benefit concert is held at Broadway’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
The 20th anniversary of Nothing Like a Dame, the starry concerts that benefit the Actors Fund's Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, is celebrated October 24 at 7:30 PM at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, 261 W. 47th St.

Two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth directs the evening, which is billed as “All Singing! All Dancing! All Women!” Performers include Neuwirth, Christine Ebersole, Melissa Errico, Julie Halston, Dana Ivey, Judy Kuhn, Tonya Pinkins, Karen Ziemba, LaChanze, Carol Woods, Mary Beth Peil, Donna Murphy, Ali Stroker, and Erin Hill, as well as Ava Briglia, Willow McCarthy, and Aviva Winick from the cast of Matilda, The Musical.

The benefit will also feature the presentation of the first Phyllis Newman Dame Award to multiple Tony nominee Marin Mazzie, most recently on Broadway in the revival of The King and I.

Phyllis Newman produces. The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative “addresses the myriad concerns women face when dealing with a serious medical condition.”

Newman made her Broadway debut in 1952 in the original musical comedy Wish You Were Here. She received a Tony Award for her performance in Subways Are for Sleeping and a Tony nomination for her work in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound. Her other Broadway credits include Bells Are Ringing, First Impressions, Moonbirds, The Apple Tree, On the Town, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, The Madwoman of Central Park West, and Awake and Sing! She married Adolph Green in 1960 with whom she had two children, Amanda and Adam. Newman is the founder of the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, part of the Actors Fund. Tickets for Nothing Like a Dame are $75, $100, $150, and $250 and are on sale online at actorsfund.org/Dame2016 or by calling (212) 221-7300, ext. 133. Tickets that include a post-performance cast party are available for a donation of $500.
