CHICAGO -- Does downsizing also shrink the soul? Numbers Don't Lie . . . And Other Lies, a play written in the spirit of the Off-Broadway (and film) hit Other People's Money, begins performances this week at the Ivanhoe Theatre. Produced by Saffron Studios, this homegrown musical features a pop/gospel/bluegrass/tango score and focuses on a recently widowed CEO who's torn between his emotional commitment to his employees and the political power-brokering of the industry he created.
Can loyalty and idealism exist in the modern corporate culture? Or does Larry the Liquidator still rule the roost? Terry McCabe directs this appropriately expensive undertaking.
