Has the success of the musical Titanic made you interested in learning more about this famous disaster? New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting three lectures, collectively titled "Titanic: The Way it Was," on the ill-fated luxury liner, by marine historian John Maxtone-Graham in October and November.

Has the success of the musical Titanic made you interested in learning more about this famous disaster? New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting three lectures, collectively titled "Titanic: The Way it Was," on the ill-fated luxury liner, by marine historian John Maxtone-Graham in October and November. In order, the lectures will be: Oct. 22: "White Paint, Gilt, and Salt Air: Edwardian Shipboard"; Oct. 29: Titanic, "White Star's Flawed Marvel"; and Nov. 5: "Echoes of That April Night."

All three lectures are given at 6 PM each Wednesday. Tickets cost $20 each; $50 for the series. For information or to order tickets: (212) 570-3949.
