News NY Playwrights Lab's Reading Series to Feature Works By Lapine, Beber and Sherman New works by James Lapine, Neena Beber, Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, Michael Hollinger, Jonathan Marc Sherman and will be part of The New York Playwrights Lab's upcoming reading series.

The New York company will present the readings of new works, Jan. 8-10, 2008, at the Cherry Lane Theatre. The free series will begin daily at 2 PM.

To be featured are readings of Richard Vetere's 3 Sisters in Queens, Neena Beber's A World Beneath and Lab founder and artistic director Israel Horovitz's Sins of the Mother.

In addition to new works, Lab members have also written 10-minute plays on the theme "Ex Lover," for Ten Ex-Lovers, which will be read following each featured play at 4 PM.

Vetere, Beber and Horovitz contributed to Ten Ex-Lovers as did Ellen Melaver, Daniel Reitz, Nicole Burdette, Michael Hollinger, Jonathan Marc Sherman and James Lapine. Seth Zvi Rosenfeld adds "a 'satyr' play," according to a release.

Plays developed at the 35-year-old New York Playwrights Lab include Isn't It Romantic? (Wendy Wasserstein), Park Your Car In Harvard Yard (Horovitz), Sideman (Warren Leight), Jump/Cut (Neena Beber), This Is Our Youth (Kenneth Lonergan), To Gillian, On Her 37th Birthday (Michael Brady) and more.
