"The New York Pops and I are excited to announce our concerts for next season," Pops musical director Steven Reineke said in a statement. "Not only will we once again feature our incredible musicians in an orchestra-only concert, we'll be celebrating a unique facet of the popular songbook at each performance with some incredible artists. I'm looking forward to what I know will be another memorable year."
The New York Pops season highlights include All You Need is Love: The Music of The Beatles, presented Oct. 24 at 8 PM. The evening will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' arrival in America with special guests Finnish vocal ensemble Rajaton.
By Special Request: An Evening with the Orchestra, featuring popular symphonic masterpieces, will take place Nov. 14 at 7:30 PM. O'Hara (The Bridges of Madison County, The Light in the Piazza) and Morrison ("Glee," The Light in the Piazza) will reunite for Kelli and Matthew: Home for the Holidays, an evening of classic and contemporary holiday music, Dec. 19 at 8 PM.
Tony Award winner Foster, who returns to the New York stage this spring in the Broadway premiere of Violet, will make her solo Carnegie Hall debut with the Pops March 13, 2015, at 8 PM. The season will close with Let's Be Frank, celebrating the music of Frank Sinatra, with Silverman (Passion, Phantom), Tony DeSare, Storm Large and Frankie Moreno, April 10, 2015, at 8 PM.
