A new play by Susan Barsky and the international musical hit about the life of the late Buddy Holly are the final two productions lined up for this season at the Helen Hayes Theatre Company.

The Helen Hayes Theatre Company, which is located in Nyack, N.Y., will mount a staging of Susan Barsky's Expectations from April 13 to April 28. Directed by Rod Kaats, this new comedy focuses on three women who face a multitude of adventures dealing with marriage, motherhood and widowhood.

Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story, which played Broadway's Shubert Theatre and a 12-year, record-breaking run in London's West End, will come to the Hayes on June 1. Featuring music and lyrics by the late Holly, the production about the musician who died in a plane crash at age 22 will run through June 16. Some of the Holly hits theatregoers can expect to hear are "Peggy Sue," "Maybe Baby" and "That'll Be the Day."

In between Expectations and Buddy is a one-night presentation of Spalding Gray's Morning, Noon and Night. One of Gray's funniest monologues, Morning, Noon and Night covers the events in one day of his life spent with his family in eastern Long Island. Gray will play the Helen Hayes at 8 PM on May 4.

Most recently, the Hayes presented the world premiere of Rupert Holmes' new thriller Thumbs, which starred talk-show host and actress Kathie Lee Gifford. The Helen Hayes is located at 117 Main Street in Nyack, N.Y.; call (845) 358-6333 for information. By Andrew Gans
