The 24-Hour Play Company, which regularly creates an evening of short plays between sundowns, will hold its second annual New York benefit Sept. 9 at 8pm at the Minetta Lane Theater. Confirmed artists thus far include Julianne Moore, Billy Crudup, Jane Adams, Rosie Perez, Fisher Stevens, Marisa Tomei and Jared Harris. They will perform in plays whipped up on the spot by Frank Pugliese, Alexandra Gersten and others, and directed by the likes of Gregory Mosher and Anna Strasberg.
The company presented an evening of plays Sept. 24, 2001, just days after the terrorist attacks, at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Proceeds from the all-star event went to aid in the creation of a children's mural honoring the victims of Sept. 11.
