News NYC Fringe, Take Two: Ten Festival Shows Return for an "Encore" Sept. 5-24 The New York International Fringe Festival's new annual series "FringeNYC Encores" will begin its two-week stay in Manhattan on Sept. 5, giving Fringe fans a second chance to see some of the fest's favorite shows.

The series is produced by John Pinckard and Britt Lafield (Never Swim Alone).

"One of the great things about FringeNYC is that it creates this unique atmosphere in which really exciting work can get a level of attention that would otherwise be impossible," says producer Pinckard. "The unavoidable downside is that just as your word-of-mouth has caught fire, your run is over. We wanted to give a handful of worthy shows a chance to be seen by more people. These actors, directors, writers and designers have all worked so hard and deserve an encore."

Running through Sept. 24, the new annual series will present ten works in rotating repertory at two downtown venues from the festival that "have either been audience favorites, lauded by critics, or both."

Tickets to "FringeNYC Encores" will be $18 and go on sale Sept. 1 through www.TicketCentral.com or at 212-279-4200. For more information visit www.fringenyc-encoreseries.com.
