"If it ain't broke, don't potchka with it."

It may not translate perfectly, but the folks at the Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre certainly follow its logic as they bring back Kids and Yiddish to Theatre Four Dec. 3-Jan. 21. This year the musical revue is titled Kids and Yiddish 2000.

The holiday event, which is 90% English and 10% Yiddish, mingles a classic Yiddish fables with song, interactive games, puppets, and today's pop culture. Conceived and written by Zalmen Mlotek, Joanne Borts and Michael Fox, the production features Jenny Romain, Fox, Lisa Fishman, Margot Leverett and the kids Rebecca Levy, Avram Mlotek, Marissa Mlotek and Elisha Mlotek.

Kids and Yiddish runs in repertory with Folksbiene's other production, An American Family, a new Yiddish adaptation of Sylvia Regan's 1940 drama Morning Star,.

For tickets to either production at Theatre Four, 424 West 55th St., call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or visit their website at www.folksbiene.org. — by Ernio Hernandez
