NYC's Performing Garage, a home to innovative theatre (The Wooster Group & The Performance Group) for over thirty years, has announced the debut of a new "Emerging Artist Series" or "EAS," featuring the work of three up-and-coming artists at The Garage, July 8 - 25.

The EAS is designed to recognize and promote emerging artists, with a focus on interdisciplinary and multi-media work. This year's nominating committee included director Anne Bogart, John Clancy (Artistic Director of Fringe NYC), Ellie Covan (Founder of Dixon Place), Lucy Sexton (PS 122 Board Chair), and James Hannaham (of The Village Voice).

The artists selected include:
€ Elliot Earls' Eye Sling Shot Lions, July 8 - 11
Elliot Earls' Eye Sling Shot Lions is an interactive digital composition conceived and constructed around the Quicktime Media Player, Max2, and Supercard technologies. During a live performance, custom built interface elements, piezio electric instruments and LCD projectors allow Earls to create a melange of typography, sound, video, and music interwoven with live spoken word texts, producing a meditation on contemporary technology.

Radiant Pig, July 15 - 18
Radiant Pig is a collaboration between the country/mystic/folk/art band called "Radiant Pig" and physical performance group Larval Trading Company. Music, visual art, dance and theatre will combine in Pig to create a layered, primal movement-oriented piece with flows between songs and stories.

A History of Heen (Not Francis E. Dec, Esq.) July 22 - 25
Eric Dyer, creator of last year's Fringe hit Bender and former associate artist of The Wooster Group, teams up once again with Bender cohorts: Scott Gillette, and Maggie Hoffman to present a piece based on the pronouncements of media theorist Dec, dubbed "The most important paranoid schizophrenic kook of the century" by Forrest Jackson.
