New York City's Vital Theatre Company kicks off its mainstage season with Brent Askari's new satire, Horsey People, Feb. 22-March 18. The official opening is set for Feb. 26.

The comedy focuses on the elite world of horse and hunt in Virginia. A mother is bent on her child winning her riding competition, so she coaxes her husband to kill the horse of her daughter's opponent. Horsey People then delves deeper into this dark world.

Vital founding member and Associate Artistic Director Laura M. Stevens directs the production. The cast includes Leigh Pittard, Bolen High, Diane Grotke, Jeff Patterson, Colin Fickes and Ted Rodenborn.
