After its original run earlier this year (April 7-May 6), Clint Jefferies and Paul L. Johnson's original musical, Cowboys!, is closing again Oct. 21 after its return engagement at Downtown Manhattan Wings Theatre. The second run began Sept. 28.

Cowboys! is a whimsical musical about a band of young yet curiously fashion conscious cowboys. The boys live at Aunt Rosie's "Straight Arrow Ranch," which just happens to sit atop a very sought-after oil flow. In order to save the ranch from slipping into the hands of the scheming Boston Black Bart or the evil Lilly Luscious, the cowhands, with the help of Ranger Rick Rowdy, do what they do best, clear out the barn and put on a show!

Jeffery Corrick wrangled directing duties once more for this cowpoke parody that boasts choreography by Kate Dowe, an original cast member from Broadway's Beauty and the Beast. Scenic design is handled by Sam Sommer, lighting by Aaron Spivey, and costumes by Tom Claypool.

All but one of the original cast members reprised their roles in this remounting. John Lavin returns as Ranger Rick, Daniel Carlton as Bart, Jim Gaddis as Injun Bob, Judy Kranz as Aunt Rosie, Stephen Cabral as Sassafras, and Steven Baker, Steve Hasley, and Andrew Phelps, as "The Croonin' Caballeros". Laura Sechelski plays Lilly Luscious, replacing Kirsten Witsman who originated the role. And Winnie the Wonder Horse remains the same.
