News NYC's Women's Project Reads 9-11 Script Return to the Upright Position Sept. 9 Playwright Caridad Svich, who had already participated in one playwright collaborative piece entiteld Stations of Desire: Saints, Sinners & In-Between, reacted to the terrorist attacks of September 11th with another such play, Return to the Upright Position. The play, combining the talents of thirteen other playwrights including Julie Jensen (Two-Headed), will be read Sept. 9 at Women's Project Theatre.

Playwright Caridad Svich, who had already participated in one playwright collaborative piece entiteld Stations of Desire: Saints, Sinners & In-Between, reacted to the terrorist attacks of September 11th with another such play, Return to the Upright Position. The play, combining the talents of thirteen other playwrights including Julie Jensen (Two-Headed), will be read Sept. 9 at Women's Project Theatre.

Return to the Upright Position was created via e-mails generated between Svich, Jensen, Cusi Cram, Mitchell Gossett, Julie Hebert, Llysa Holland, Jennifer Maisel, Julia Pearlstein, Brad Rothbart, Gregory Romero, Ann Taylor, Elizabeth Wong, Michael Wright and Allison Eve Zell. Svich edited the resulting work.

Jessica Hecht and Everett Quinton (Irma Vep) are featured alongside Pearlstein, Molly Powell and Scott Shepard. Theatre vet Hecht (The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Stop Kiss) is also known for her recurring role on "Friends" as Ross' ex-wife's lesbian lover, Susan.

The reading is free and begins at 4 PM. The Women's Project Theatre is located at 424 West 55th Street.
