What with the surreal elements of House/Lights and the psychotic behavior of The Emperor Jones, it’s only fitting that Wooster Group would go “Psycho” for its April 12 benefit. The downtown, world renowned New York City company will hold an evening-long party, featuring cocktails at the Chelsea Hotel, a screening of “American Psycho,” and a post-flick gathering with a musical set by John Cale. The evening starts at 6 PM at Serena’s lounge in the Chelsea Hotel, moving on to a 7:30 PM screening of the new film, “American Psycho,” at Clearview Cinemas. (The film features Willem Dafoe, a founding member of Wooster Group who continues to appear in productions there, including the current North Atlantic.) After the movie, it’s off to Lot 61 (on West 21st St.) for “an open bar and finger food,” as well as music spun by DJ Johnny Dynell and a set by former Velvet Underground singer songwriter-violist, Cale, whose solo albums include “Guts,” “Helen of Troy,” “Paris 1919” and “Honi Soit.”
Tickets range from $75 (party only) to $750 (full-evening VIP pass). Call (212) 966-3651 for information.
