NY Musical Theatre Fest NYMF Focuses on the New Generation with Musical Theatre Showcase in Astoria A New Generation of Song: the future of musical theatre, A musical showcase featuring the songs of up and coming composers in the musical theatre world, will be co-produced by the New York Musical Theatre Festival and the Astoria Performing Arts Center.

Performances will take place Sept. 15, 16 and 17 at the Astoria Performing Arts Center, Upstairs at Mezzo Mezzo, 31-29 Ditmars Blvd, in Astoria, New York. Tickets are $15 plus a two-drink minimum.

In a time when the original musical is a rare occurrence, A New Generation of Song-the future of musical theatre, gives these new musicals a chance to be heard and appreciated in a cabaret-like atmosphere.

The featured composers and lyricists will include Brett Kristofferson, Alan Wager and Peggy Riley, Jason Loffredo and Jay Falzone, Ted Kociolek and James Racheff, Kyle Rosen, Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needlemen, William Wade and Frank Blocker, Jeffrey Campos and Shad Olsen, Katie Kring, David Sisco and Tom Gualtieri, David Delaney and Nancy Stark.

The cast will include Shad Olsen, Kimberly Chesser, Michael Marcotte and Sarah Orr. Brian Swasey will direct, with musical direction by Jeffrey Campos. br>
