News NYMF Gala, Honoring Duncan Sheik and Tara Rubin, Held Tonight The annual evening takes place at the Edison Ballroom.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) honors Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer and lyricist Duncan Sheik, casting director Tara Rubin, and former NYMF board member and treasurer Frank Troutman at its 2016 Gala November 13 at the Edison Ballroom.

Hosted by Mo Rocca, the evening begins at 6 PM with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner at 7:15 PM and performances at 8:15 PM.

The honorees are celebrated with performances by Broadway stars and NYMF alumni in an evening directed by David Alpert, with musical direction by David Dabbon.

Performers include Darren Ritchie (Wonderland, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Bryce Pinkham (Gentleman's Guide), Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Treshelle Edmond (Spring Awakening), Dave Thomas Brown (American Pyscho), and Molly Gordon (Animal Kingdom).

Additional appearances will be made by Tony Award-winning director Susan Stroman (The Producers), Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff (Big River, The Who's Tommy, Jersey Boys), Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records president and co-founder, Kurt Deutsch, and Tony Award nominee Elizabeth A. Davis (Once). There will also be performances from the 2016 NYMF shows Camp Rolling Hills and Dust Can't Kill Me.

“Duncan, Tara and Frank have made innumerable and extraordinary contributions to the theatre,” said NYMF executive director and producer Dan Markley in an earlier statement. “We are thrilled to be honoring them at our Gala this November, while also celebrating everyone who helped make our 2016 Festival a success.”

New York Musical Festival (NYMF) nurtures “the creation, production, and public presentation of stylistically, thematically, and culturally diverse new musicals to ensure the future vitality of musical theater.” The festival is entering its 14th year.
