In addition to the 34 new musicals set for presentation during the New York Musical Theatre Festival, an evening of comedy, dance, music and theatre will be offered when the best of New York's cutting-edge artists present Freshly Tossed Oct. 1.

Wendy Seyb (Walmartopia, School Daze, But I'm A Cheerleader) and Mark Lonergan (This Way That Way, Velocity) will curate the evening, which will also feature pieces from both artists.

Seyb will present excerpts from her latest work, Catch, as well as the award-winning dance comedy Supernovas, created with performers Mark Gindick and Kathryn Fraggos. Excerpts from Time Step, Lonergan's tap comedy, will feature performers and co-creators Ryan Kasprzak, Brent McBeth, and Derek Roland.

Physical comedienne Hilary Chaplain, whose previous work A Life in Her Day won a Best of the Fest Solo Show Award in 2006, will perform her latest variety piece Classically Trained Musician.

A montage of the NYMF production Die Hard: The Puppet Musical will be featured, as well as The Birds, the acclaimed physical comedy piece by Jessica Green and Tami Stronach.

Ray Hesselink, whose tap moves will be represented in the upcoming Broadway production of Billy Elliot: The Musical, will conclude the evening with his latest choreography. Freshly Tossed will play the Theater at St. Clements, located at 423 West 46th Street. Show times are 7 and 9:30 PM. Tickets are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.nymf.org.
