Director William Martin (Bway's The Lieutenant) will stage Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind at NY's 30th Street Theatre, Mar. 11 - 28.

Martin received a Drama Desk nomination for his direction of Lieutenant back in '75. The production also received a Best Musical nomination from the Tonys.

With Lie of the Mind, Shepard culminated many of the relationship themes (between two brothers, parents and lovers) purveying such other works as True West, filmdom's "Paris, Texas", Buried Child, Curse of the Starving Class, Fool for Love. Shepard himself directed its 1985 debut with a star-studded cast including Harvey Keitel, Aidan Quinn, Amanda Plummer, Will Patton, Geraldine Page, Karen Young, James Gammon, and Ann Wedgeworth.

Martin's cast includes: Curt Branom, Jim Brown, Annie Connor, Mark Courtien, Kathleen Goldpaugh, Richard Licata, Trisha McCormick, and Christina Starbuck.
