Broadhollow's Bayway Arts Center kicks off its fall season with the dramatic musical, Blood Brothers on August 9.

Blood Brothers, which features book, lyrics, and music by Willy Russell (author of Shirley Valentine) is the story of twin brothers separated at birth: one is given a life of privilege, the other is raised in poverty. Still, the brothers' lives are nonetheless intertwined through strange twists of fate.

Russell's musical made its American Premiere in 1993 at the Music Box Theatre, where it failed to reach the popularity it attained with its London stage production years before. Blood Brothers is still a favorite in London, where Helen Reddy is currently starring in the production at the Phoenix Theatre.

Broadhollow's Associate Artistic Director, Michael Tester (author of On the Road to Victory), will be choreographing the production as well as directing a seasoned cast which includes Michael Sasciano, Matthew Fenese, Lynne Reinhold Adams, Pegg Winter, and Suzanne Mason.

Blood Brothers will run from August 9-30 at the Bayway Arts Center in East Islip. For tickets or more information, call (516) 581-2700 or visit the Bay way Arts Center regional listing at Playbill On-Line. --By Jackie Mastropolo
