In May, New Dramatists will honor singer-actress Julie Andrews at its annual Spring Luncheon, but before that, Andrews will be feted at a WNET (channel 13) TV fundraiser, April 21, at New York's Plaza Hotel. As reported in the New York Post, Bill Moyers will host the gala, which also honors newscaster Walter Cronkite.
Andrews received Tony Award nominations for her performances in My Fair Lady, Camelot, and Victor/Victoria. Andrews received an Academy Award for her film debut as the title role in the Walt Disney film, "Mary Poppins." Other films include: "The Sound of Music," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and "The Americanization of Emily."
