When Rodgers and Hammerstein's final musical returns to the Great White Way on Mar. 12, New York's WWOR Channel 9 will be there to cover it.

The coverage, which begins at 8 PM, will be hosted by TV vet Pat Collins and actor Richard Kind (TV's Spin City).

The program will include taped segments from rehearsals of the show, which stars Rebecca Luker (Secret Garden, Show Boat, City Center's Boys from Syracuse) as Maria and British actor Michael Michael Siberry (best known to Broadway audiences for his portrayal of the title role in the Royal Shakespeare Company's 1986 revival of Nicholas Nickleby) as Captain von Trapp.

There will also be taped interviews with the actors and the creative team including director Susan H. Schulman, and comments from actresses who have played Maria over the years -- including Florence Henderson (who starred in the first national tour of the musical) and Debby Boone (who played the role in a Lincoln Center revival).

TV viewers can also expect to see interviews with opening night audience members and coverage of the opening night party. The TV show will be broadcast from 8-10 PM.
