NY's Moonwork Theater Co. presents Shakespeare's Richard III at The Stella Adler Conservatory, Jan. 28 - Feb. 15, opening Feb. 1.

Moonwork's Richard III will be a contemporary rendition of the play, going with the motif of the characters being media creations. The production takes place in a land where television takes the place of a town square, where Shakespeare's armies are now the CIA, and Richard has the TV savvy of any Sunday morning evangelist.

Featured in the cast of Richard III are Gregory Sherman, Mason Pettit, David Rosengarten, Jennifer Carta, Paula Stevens, Robert Perillo and Dan Snow. The production is directed by Moonwork's artistic director, Gregory Wolfe.

In other Richard news, NY's Theatre for a New Audience is currently staging Richard II and Richard III in repertory, now in previews for an opening Feb. 15 - April 5.
