NY's Present Company will revive their production of The Paper Man, written and directed by John Clancy, April 16-May 9, at The Company's vast Lower East Side space, The Theatorium (198 Stanton Street). Paper Man was initially premiered in the company's smaller midtown space on 45th Street.

When Jake, a mid-level manager, is fired from a Manhattan firm he takes to the streets and becomes infected with enchantment towards the darker side of the city he once knew. Like Mamet's Edmond, the play, performed in fifty rapid-fire scenes, explores racism, financial security, and the rhetoric of corporate landscapes used to disguise the ugliness of life.

This is The Present Company's fifth production in its new home. The Company is best known as producer of the New York Fringe Festival.

The Present Company Theatorium is the recently-opened multi-arts performing center located on the Lower East Side. The Theatorium operates both as a performance venue and a resource center for emerging artists. Inspired by the turn of the century buildings of the same name, The Present Company Theatorium is dedicated to providing constant and eclectic, popular entertainment, serving as a staging ground for the new forms and media of the next generation of theatre artists.
