NYTB at the Duplex – the monthly series that showcases work from emerging performers and composers – will offer the second part of Brad Bass' a little bitty pissant country boy's cabaret entitled DAYBREAK.
The evening will also feature In Time, a new cabaret from actress Kristen Sergeant.
The 9:30 PM evening kicks-off with In Time. Accompanied by David Budway (piano) and Saadi Zain (bass), In Time finds Sergeant exploring the songs of Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Robert Allen, and Styne, Comden & Green.
Brad Bass (Wicked) follows with a little bitty pissant country boy's cabaret… DAYBREAK. According to NYTB production notes, "The path we travel to reach our dreams is long and tiring. It can wear us down and cause us to loose hope. But if we believe in ourselves, in our friends, in our dreams, and in love we will be able to reach the sky… we will be able to see DAYBREAK."
Bobby Cronin directs the cabaret, with musical direction by Ray Bailey and featuring Briana DeVol and Marcus Montoya. The evening will boast a guest appearance from Tori Scott performing "But I Want To," from NYTB's fall presentation of The Gallery; as well as Mary Ann Schaub and singer songwriter Rob Baumgartner.
The Duplex Cabaret Theater is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue. There is a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 255-5438 for reservations.
