The musical melds three short stories by American fiction writer William Sidney Porter, better known as O. Henry, and is set in early 20th-century New York. Book and lyrics are by Joe DiPietro (Over the River and Through the Woods, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and music is by Michael Valenti. A production of the work was seen in fall 1999 by the American Stage Company of Teaneck, NJ, featuring Angela Christian (Thoroughly Modern Millie). O. Henry's Lovers plays the Norma Terris in Chester, CT, Nov. 13-Dec. 7. Gordon Greenberg directs.
A section of the work was seen at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival in recent years.
