News Obie Winner Petty Stars in Honky Tonk Heroes at the El Portal Beginning May 15 Jason Petty, who won a 2003 Obie Award for his performance in Off-Broadway's Hank Williams: Lost Highways, stars in Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes, beginning May 15 at the El Portal Mainstage Theatre.

Presented by Weddington Street Productions, the production, which features a four-piece band, will play the West Coast venue through May 24.

"In this nostalgic look at Hank Williams and his influence on country music," press notes state, "Nashville veteran and Off-Broadway Obie Award winning star Jason Petty uncannily recreates the sound and the soul of Hank Williams' music."

The band comprises David Martin on bass, Eric Lewis on steel guitar, David Finch on fiddle and Tommy Wayne on electirc guitar.

Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes is a musical revue that allows audiences to "experience the sounds of Hank Williams, his heroes and those he influenced." The production features 20 country classics, including "I'm So Lonesome," "Hey Good Lookin'," "Jambalaya" and "Your Cheatin' Heart."
