A young bride cancels her wedding to sit Shiva when her grandmother dies in Wedding Pictures, a comedy by Judy Korotkin, playing Aug. 9-25 at the Vital Theatre Company. Vital Theatre's artistic director Stephen Sunderlin (Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery, Escape from Happiness) directs.

In Wedding Pictures, the young bride-to-be's extended family confront their hopes, fears and pain, as what would have been a happy occasion becomes a chance to restore the woman's damaged belief in love and marriage. Korotkin's play was previously workshopped at the 42nd Street Workshop. Her other work includes the comedy High Concept and the novel "The Spotlight."

Starring in Wedding Pictures are Emily Zacharias (Jekyll & Hyde, Social Security, Olympus On My Mind), Nancy Franklin, Robert Harriell, Barry J. Hirsch, Neil Levine, Cortnie Loren Miller, Sarah Schoenberg, Mimi Scott and Pamela Shaw.
