News Off-Broadway Drag Musical Pageant Crowned with New Weekend Schedule Producers of the Off-Broadway drag musical Pageant have announced a new weekend performance schedule for the production that will officially open July 14 at the Davenport Theatre.

The Bill Russell-Frank Kelly-Albert Evans musical currently shares a home with Forbidden Broadway, which will end its run at the Davenport July 20. Pageant has now announced that beginning July 21, the new playing schedule will be as follows: Mondays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 7:30 PM.

Pageant was seen in a limited, sold-out benefit run earlier this year. Previews began June 29 at the Davenport Theatre.

Directed by Matt Lenz, the production features contestants Nick Cearley (The Skivvies), Nic Cory (Signs of Life), Alex Ringler (West Side Story), Marty Thomas (Wicked, Xanadu), Seth Tucker (Our Kiki) and Curtis Wiley (Motown), with Drama Desk nominee John Bolton (A Christmas Story, Titanic) as the host.

This encore engagement plays a limited run through Sept. 1. The Davenport Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street.

Here's how it's billed: "Like every beauty pageant you've seen before, Pageant features contestants desperately vying for a glittering tiara. With swimsuit, talent, and evening gown competitions – the show includes both the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat! Unlike some beauty pageants you've seen before, the female contestants are all played by men. And the audience gets to select the winner each night. Filled with excitement and suspense, but first and foremost, beauty. Let the beauty begin!" Pageant, which premiered Off-Broadway in 1991 at the Blue Angel, is written by two-time Tony nominee Russell (Side Show) and Kelly, with music by Evans. It was conceived by Robert Longbottom (Side Show). The new production is produced by SAS Productions in association with Kitty Potapow.

The production has choreography by Shea Sullivan, music supervision by Mark Hartman, scenic design by Paul Tate DePoo III, costumes by Stephen Yearick, lighting by Paul Miller, sound by David Sanderson and casting by Duncan Stewart and Company.

Pageant is produced by SAS Productions, Kitty Potapow, Drew Desky and Michelle R. Rogers. ABS Productions serves as executive producer.
