News Off-Broadway's Distracted Gets a New "Dad" in Rick Holmes Rick Holmes takes over the role of Dad in the New York City premiere of Lisa Loomer's Distracted on April 7. Josh Stamberg has left the show due to a prior filming commitment.

The Roundabout Theatre Company production plays at Off-Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.

The Mark Brokaw-directed cast includes Peter Benson, Shana Dowdeswell, Lisa Emery, Natalie Gold, Matthew Gumley, Rick Holmes, Mimi Lieber, Aleta Mitchell and Cynthia Nixon. Tony Award winner Nixon (Rabbit Hole, "Sex and the City") is billed as a "fast-paced and disarmingly funny look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin. …A contemporary American mom reaches out to teachers, psychotherapists, and neighbors to figure out if Attention Deficit Disorder is the root of her son's problems."

Holmes appeared in Broadway's Spamalot, Pillowman, Cabaret, Major Barbara, The Deep Blue Sea, St. Joan, Government Inspector and Timon of Athens, and Off-Broadway's Stop Kiss, Dog Opera (Public); Clean (Atlantic); Christina Alberta's Father (Vineyard); Hapgood (LCT); and Othello and Richard III (NYSF).

The Laura Pels is at 111 W. 46th Street. This is a limited engagement through May 17.
