After select performances of LCT3’s new play Plot Points In Our Sexual Development at Lincoln Center Theater’s Claire Tow Theater, ticketholders will be invited to free events related to the onstage queer love story.
The play, directed by Margot Bordelon and starring Jax Jackson and Marianne Rendón, centers on Theo and Cecily, who want to be honest about their sexual pasts but worry about the consequences of total transparency.
On October 28, November 4, and November 11, theatregoers are invited to participate in LGBTQ+ singles nights. The first is hosted by co-founders of the Under the Covers Project Sọma Okoye and Bianca Rogoff, who founded the artist collective to erase the stigma around sex, sexuality, and pleasure. Audience members will be encouraged to mingle and share intimate conversations about “what pleasure looks like to [them].
November 4, LCT3 welcomes artist Maybe Burke in a singles night around the theme of “Letters To My Younger Self.” Burke is a performer, writer, director, choreographer, educator, and trans advocate who has worked with such companies as Ars Nova, New Dramatists, and more. They will lead an evening of reflection on lessons audiences would impart to themselves and others.
The final singles night, titled “Drink & Draw,” takes place November 11 and is hosted by drag artist and activist Basit, known in drag as Dionne Slay. They lead a night around exploring how visual art allows your to see yourself in others.
On November 1, 8, and 12, Ianne Fields Stewart will moderate post-show talks among audiences. Stewart aims to illuminate: “What do love and intimacy look like to you? How do you think your views match up to others?” Stewart is a black, queer, and transfeminine storyteller and most recently led post-show talks at LCT3’s Pass Over.
