News   Ogunquit Playhouse's The Addams Family Finds Its Morticia, Gomez, Lurch, Wednesday and More Initial casting has been announced for the Ogunquit Playhouse's upcoming production of the Broadway musical The Addams Family, which will play the Maine venue Oct. 1-26.

The cast will be headed by Shaun Rice as Fester, Rachel de Benedet as Morticia, David Engel as Gomez, Jen Fogarty as Wednesday, Matthew Quinn as Lurch and Amanda Bruton as Grandma. 

Keith Andrews directs and choreographs.

The musical comedy was created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa.

"The frightfully delightful world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch comes to spooky and spectacular life in this all new story, based on the bizarre and beloved characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams," according to press notes. "The magnificently macabre family is put to the test when outsiders come to dinner, hurling them into a night that will change their lives forever."
