The York Theatre's Developmental Reading Series continues 7:30 PM March 19 with a free, concert-style reading of Nearby Faraway, a new musical by Neal Herr (book and lyrics) and Catherine Reid (music).

Sheryl Kaller directs the musical about the relationship between artist Georgia O'Keefe and photographer Alfred Stieglitz, who promoted her work. The small-cast show draws on written accounts of the couple's 30-year relationship.

The reading cast includes Beth Dunnington as Georgia, Martin Vidnovic as Alfred, Elisa Heinson in multiple roles and Willy Falk in multiple roles.

The music is directed and played by Stephen Purdy and Ben Cohn. Rich LaPlant is on drums and percussion.

The performance is free and open to the public. York Theatre is at The Theatre at St. Peter's in the Citicorp Center, Lexington and 54th Street in Manhattan. — By Kenneth Jones
