This is the third time that Frayn's play will have played in the commercial West End: the original Lyric Hammersmith production moved to the Savoy (then Broadway) and the National Theatre revival moved to the Piccadilly (then Broadway).
According to press materials, Noises Off has been the highest-grossing show in the history of The Old Vic Theatre Company, breaking weekly box-office records during its run.
Lindsay Posner's production will transfer with Jonathan Coy, Janie Dee, Robert Glenister, Jamie Glover, Celia Imrie, Karl Johnson and Paul Ready all reprising their Old Vic roles, with the characters of Poppy Norton-Taylor and Brooke Ashton to be announced shortly.
In a press statement, Kevin Spacey, artistic director of the Old Vic, commented, "I couldn't be more thrilled with the reaction of audiences to this production of Noises Off. It’s wonderful for The Old Vic to be transferring this production into the West End, giving many more people the chance to see Michael Frayn's brilliant play, and the fantastic company of actors that have brought it to life. It has always been our ambition to see our productions travel to other theatres so this is great news for The Old Vic."
Playwright Frayn added, "I think congratulations are in order to everyone in our terrific cast, and to Lindsay Posner, who directed them. I hope they’ll be very happy in their new home." To book tickets, contact the box office on 0844 482 5170, or visit www.noisesoffwestend.com for more details.
