News Olivier Award Winner Leanne Jones to Star in New London Production of Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens Leanne Jones, who won the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her professional debut as London's original Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, will head the cast of a new production of the sci-fi musical Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens, which will begin performances Aug. 1 prior to an official opening Aug. 7, for a seven-week run through Sept. 15.

She will be joined by Jamie Birkett, Ralph Bogard (as Saucy Jack), Kristopher Bosch, David Malcolm, Kate Malyon, Marcus Reeves and Nigel Thomas. Originally premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1995, it has been seen in site-specific productions in London as well a West End run at the Queen's Theatre in 1998. With a book by Charlotte Mann, lyrics by Mann and Michael Fidler, music by Jonathan Croose and Robin Forrest, it is based on original ideas by Johanna Allitt, Simon Curtis, Fidler and Mann. It is directed and choreographed by Stuart Saint, and produced by Martin Witts for London International Arts Theatres Limited.

Set in the seedy cabaret club Saucy Jack’s, on the planet Frottage III, all is not well. Danger lurks in every corner as the cabaret acts are being picked off one by one by the relentless slingback killer, plunging a murderous heel deep into the victim's chest. The Space Vixens, a troupe of super-fashion crime fighters, arrive to save the day by the Power of Disco, with glowing Glitterboots and disco beams.
